The Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, offers Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees with concentrations in Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Additionally, the Department of Psychology and the College of Arts and Sciences offers a collaborative and supportive environment. The Department of Psychology seeks to hire a Full-time Lecturer to teach psychology courses for the 2026-27 academic year with classes beginning August 24, 2026. This is a one-year, full-time academic year position. Area of specialization is open.

The Lecturer will teach six undergraduate psychology courses per year, three courses per semester, as assigned by the Department Chair and Dean. Courses to be taught may include APSY 101 Introduction to Psychology and upper-level courses in the candidate's area of expertise. UAlbany's primary course delivery and other obligations are expected to be completed in person, unless specific assignments are assigned or approved to be completed remotely or online at the University's discretion.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teaching: Three courses per semester, for a total of six courses during the academic year.
• Service: University, College, Department Service, and other reasonable duties as assigned.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships:

• Reports to: Department Chair.
• May supervise employees as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in psychology or closely related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally accrediting organization by 8/21/2026.
• Experience teaching at the college or university level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree or terminal degree in psychology or closely related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally accrediting organization by 8/21/2026.
• Experience teaching Introduction to Psychology and other Psychology courses.
